グループ展 「最終目的地なんて、まだ なくていい」のお知らせ

12月２日（火）11:00 -18:00 の１日のみの展覧会を開催いたします。

本展では、テンプル大学ジャパンキャンパスより、4名のアーティスト 阪本ふたば、砂金俊介、シュウ・イジー、小川詩音 が参加します。

中心となる表現媒体は絵画ですが、作品にはテキスタイルや和紙など、多様な素材や技法も取り入れられています。

4名それぞれが異なるテーマや視点から制作しており、その多様なバックグラウンドが作品に反映されていますが、今、この同じ瞬間を生きるアーティストとして、共通する感覚も存在しています。展覧会タイトル 「最終目的地なんて、まだ　なくていい。」 に込められているように、彼らは卒業を前にした期待と不安、そして次のステップへ向かう手前の揺れ動く心境を共有しながら制作しています。

Group Exhibition: “We Don’t Need to Have a FINAL DESTINATION Yet.” Announcement

We will hold a one-day exhibition on Tuesday, December 2nd, from 11:00 to 18:00.

This group exhibition brings together four unique artists from Temple University, Japan Campus: Futaba Sakamoto, Shunsuke Sunagane, Issy Shaw, and Shion Ogawa. While painting serves as the central medium, the works also incorporate a diverse materials and techniques, such as textiles and traditional Japanese paper. Although each artist explores different themes and perspectives in their artwork, revealing their diverse backgrounds, they are united through a shared moment in their artistic journeys. Reflected in the title of the exhibition, “We Don’t Need to Have a Final Destination Yet”, the artists share in their excitement and anxiety of approaching graduation and the uncertain next chapter of their lives.

阪本フタバ・Futaba Sakamoto

阪本フタバは日本で生まれ育ったクリエイターである。英語と日本語のバイリンガルとして、国際的な環境で育ったことから、サードカルチャーキッド（TCK）の一員である。彼女の作品は、同じTCKの人々に語りかけると同時に、あらゆる年代の人々にとっても共感できるテーマを共有したいと願っている。彼女の興味は、立体物、グラフィックデザイン、絵画、音楽、映像制作、写真など多岐にわたる。最終的な目標は、あらゆる分野をこなすだけでなく、そのすべてを極めた“万能のクリエイター”になることである。

Futaba Sakamoto is a creator born and raised in Japan. She is both fluent in English and Japanese, and considers herself a third culture kid (TCK) due to her international upbringing. Her works deal with experiences of alienation and isolation during her childhood years, and wishes her art to speak to other fellow TCKs, and at the same time speak to everyone of all ages, as these themes are universally experienced. Her interests range from sculpture works, graphic design, painting, music, videography, and photography. Her ultimate goal as a creator is to become a jack of all trades, and a master of all.

シュウ　イジー・Issy Shaw

シュウ　イジーはアメリカ・ニュージャージー州出身のミクストメディアアーティストで、現在テンプル大学ジャパンキャンパスの最終学年に在籍しています。彼女の作品は、海外での生活経験や旅、そして多様な社会的風景を観察する中で得たインスピレーションをもとにしています。クラフトとファインアートの要素を融合させながら、アイデンティティや社会意識といったテーマを探求し、その表現を発展させてきました。

当初は絵画を中心に制作していましたが、近年では版画、テキスタイル、新しいメディアへと領域を広げ、表現の可能性をさらに押し広げています。彼女の作品は、見る人に喜びを与えると同時に、現代の社会的課題についての思索を促すものとなっています。

Issy Shaw is a mixed-media artist from New Jersey, USA, currently in her senior year at Temple University’s Japan Campus. Her work draws inspiration from her experiences living abroad, traveling, and observing diverse social landscapes. Blending elements of craft and fine art, Issy explores themes of identity and social awareness through her evolving practice. Originally focused on painting, she has recently expanded into printmaking, textiles, and new media to continually push the boundaries of her artistic expression, sparking joy and inspiring reflection on pressing social issues.

小川詩恩・Shion Ogawa

小川詩恩は東京を拠点とするビジュアルアーティストで、主に油絵、ドローイング、グラフィックデザインを中心に制作しています。彼の絵画やドローイングは、抽象と具象のあいだに生じる緊張感を探求しており、一方でグラフィックデザインでは、シンプルさと明快さを追求したスタイルを展開しています。

彼は正式な美術教育を受ける前から油絵を通して創作活動を始めました。テンプル大学で美術を専攻し、油絵とドローイングによる表現をさらに深めるとともに、デジタルグラフィックデザインへの新たな関心も見出しました。大学在学中には、ローマや京都にも拠点を移し、それぞれの地域文化に根ざした作品制作を行ったことも、彼の特徴の一つとなっています。

Shion Ogawa is a visual artist based in Tokyo, primarily working in oil painting, drawing, and graphic design. His painting and drawing explore the tension between abstraction and figuration. His graphic design, on the other hand, explores a style of simplicity and clarity.

Ogawa began his artistic journey through oil painting before receiving formal training in fine arts. He majored in art at Temple University, where he further developed his exploration of expression through oil painting and drawing and discovered a new interest in digital graphic design. He also changed his base of operations to Rome and Kyoto during his university years, and his works are rooted in the culture of each region, which is also one of his characteristics.

砂金駿輔・Shunsuke Sunagane

現在、テンプル大学ジャパンキャンパスのタイラー・スクール・オブ・アートに在籍しています。これまで、映像制作、グラフィックデザイン、アニメーション制作、ドローイング、ペインティングなど、幅広いメディアに取り組んできました。

彼は手を動かして描くこと・作ることを好み、幼少期から大人になるまで触れてきたジブリ作品やエヴァンゲリオンといったアニメーション映画、さらにシティポップやPerfumeといったテーマ性のあるジャンルから大きな影響を受けています。作品は、多様な音楽ジャンルや日本の伝統文化、そして1980〜1990年代の日本の生活様式からインスピレーションを得たポートレート表現を通したイメージメイキングを中心としています。また、彼の作品は、物事を本来属している文脈から意図的に切り離し、新たな状況に遭遇させることを試みています。

Shunsuke Sunagane is currently studying at Tyler School of Art, Temple University Japan Campus. He has been exploring multiple media: video production, graphic design, animation production, drawing, and painting. He enjoys drawing and creating with his hands, greatly influenced by animation films such as those from Ghibli and Evangelion, as well as theme genres like city pop and Perfume, which spanned his childhood through adulthood. His works involves image-making through portraiture, inspired by diverse music genres and Japanese traditional culture, as well as the 1980s to 1990s Japanese lifestyle. Also, his work is trying to detach things from the original context they originally belong to, then make them encounter a new situation.
